Fashion Forward
Cross-Border collaboration for a sustainable and inclusive Fashion Industry

The European fashion industry is a major contributor to environmental degradation, accounting for 10% of global emissions and producing 4 million tons of textile waste annually. Despite progressive EU sustainability policies (e.g., the European Green Deal, Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation), many local designers and SMEs struggle to implement circular models due to financial and logistical barriers. Furthermore, cross-border collaboration among sustainable fashion innovators remains limited, preventing scalable solutions and broader impact. Additionally, the lack of inclusivity in the industry hinders innovation and accessibility for diverse talent.

Fashion Forward, unites sustainable designers, brands, policymakers, and consumers across Europe. By leveraging digital innovation and collaborative networks, we aim to:

  1. Support Emerging Designers & SMEs – Provide training, mentorship, and funding opportunities to implement circular business models and scale their impact.

  2. Facilitate Policy-Driven Action – Bridge the gap between EU policies and grassroots implementation, ensuring accessibility and compliance with new regulations.

  3. Enhance Cross-Border Collaboration – Enable knowledge exchange and partnerships between European sustainable fashion hubs through workshops, digital matchmaking, and shared supply chains.

  4. Empower Consumers & Strengthen Democracy – Engage citizens in circular fashion practices, advocating for transparency, inclusivity, and ethical consumption.

Our target group includes a diverse range of stakeholders committed to driving sustainable change in the fashion industry. We engage fashion entrepreneurs and SMEs, including emerging designers and small brands, who are looking for sustainable production methods. At the same time, we connect with conscious consumers across Europe who are passionate about sustainable fashion and ethical consumption.

Beyond the business and consumer sphere, we also collaborate with policy makers and industry leaders, such as EU institutions, sustainability experts, and key industry stakeholders, who play a crucial role in scaling sustainable solutions. Additionally, we work closely with educational institutions and NGOs, including universities and organizations focused on sustainability, the circular economy, and fashion innovation.

Together, these groups form a powerful network driving the transition towards a more responsible and circular fashion ecosystem.

Meet the Team

The three of us met through Changemakers for the Plant (CXC) in Sweden in April 2024. We noticed that the fashion industry operates in silos: 85% of fashion companies report that poor collaboration across the supply chain is a major obstacle to sustainable innovation. Only 20% of companies systematically share sustainability data with partners. this Lack of collaboration hinders innovation and sustainability.

We want to change this.

And we are looking for you!

Fashion Forward is breaking down communication barriers to enable genuine collaboration.
